A Day in the Life at an Alpaca and Llama Farm: Shearing Day
If you have never met a llama up close and looked into their incredible, soulful eyes, you are seriously missing out. Visiting WoodsEdge Farm in Stockton, NJ is a favorite memory of mine. Feeding and spending time with the llamas is such a great experience, (you can buy llama food in their farm store!) if you live in the area, you must stop by for a visit.
When they reached out to us for some branding photography I was, well thrilled is an understatement, haha (did I mention how much I love llamas??). They were aiming to show their farm, animals, and what they do, in a real, unedited, but thoughtful and artistic way. They were hoping to capture the beauty in the fibers, the love of the animals and the joy of the work. Their yearly shearing day for the llamas and alpacas was the perfect occasion to start their rebrand.
We learned so much about these amazing animals and their fibers. We documented the shearing process and got to know the farmers and their animals. If you’re interested in learning more about this process you should give them a visit! They are so friendly and incredibly knowledgable! Here is a sampling of some of the images we captured for them.
